social media habits you need to ditch

December 20, 2024

It's 2025, we don't want to see these anymore!

say au revoir to these social media habits (please)

In the spirit of new year's resolutions coming up, let's start a little early and discuss social media resolutions. The more I scroll through social media, the more I cringe (sorry) when I see rookie mistakes (double sorry!). I mean, it's almost 2025–there are no excuses!

posting just to post

Everyone can tell the difference between an intentional, well crafted post and one that leaves you feeling ???? after seeing it. Ensure your posts are fueled by your strategy, and reverse engineer your goals to create a strategy that works. We look at our clients' goals, use them as guidance to create content buckets/categories, and then we create a content outline that also incorporates trends (all while keeping adding value at the forefront).

too many social media platforms

I can see the shocked faces now–but yes, being on too many social media platforms can hinder you. Just think about it this way: the audience you see on TikTok is wildly different from the one you would see on LinkedIn. So by posting content to every platform you are reaching many different audiences that may not be your target audience, leaving them feeling like ???? after seeing your content (which is what we want to avoid, remember?). Rule of thumb, find the two platforms that your target audience is on the most and stick to posting consistently on those.

"we've always done it this way"

This is a quote we hear a ton! If you have methods that work and you see success from them, (of course) keep those. But, social media is ever-changing (like seriously, it changes daily) and because of this, your social media strategies need to change somewhat often. This allows for fresh ideas and new content that keeps your audience coming back for more and eventually purchasing from you.

now what?

Take it a step at a time, and always remember that small changes can lead to biiiiig results–as long as you remain consistent. If you want more reach, engagement, and loyal (repeat) customers, implement what we discussed above and give it 3-6 months. Thank us later!
