your July trends and news recap
I can hear all the sighs of relief that you are now reading the July trends and news recap here and don't have to go digging through them somewhere else (you're welcome). July was a busy month and honestly, a bunch happened. So I’ll keep this brief so you can get to implementing!
trend alert: 'my favorite animal is'
This trend blew Instagram and TikTok by storm. The trend is "my favorite animal is" and then you say something that makes you angry or annoyed. For example, mine would be "my favorite animal is me when CapCut deletes my projects mid-editing." (don't ask)
how to use it:
This trend will best be used on a REEL or TikTok. It’s a great way to add drama and humor to your content. It's also a fun way to show some relatability to your audience!
trend alert: 'that there wouldn't be this if there hadn't been you.'
This is a great way to show your audience "how you started vs how it's going" in a creative way. Allowing your audience to be a part of your process will boost loyalty. They'll feel like they're part of the whole experience!
how to use it:
This can be a very easy way to get creative and have some fun making content. When she sings “that there wouldn't be this” it can be pictures or videos of milestones or accomplishments of your company. “If there hadn't been you” these will be pictures or videos from the beginning of your company or when you were first starting, showing your progression.
LinkedIn update: sponsored newsletters
LinkedIn is expanding its sponsored articles ad option to include sponsored newsletters, now providing brands a chance to have more engagement on their posts. This is a great way to show off your expertise and go in-depth about a topic, converting your audience into potential customers or spiking their interest in what you have to offer.
how to use it:
If your target audience is on LinkedIn, this is for you! LinkedIn makes it easy, simply go to LinkedIn marketing solutions and press ‘create ad.’ They have 11 ad formats for you to choose from, making your ad specific to your objective.
Instagram update: editing REELs through Instagram
Editing REELs and content through Instagram just got that much easier. Now, with the ability to add up to 20 tracks of audio on a single REEL, Instagram is becoming a one-stop shop for filming, editing, and posting. Also, by editing your videos through Instagram, you can create audio that other creators can use, resulting in more views on your post and profile!
how to use it:
When posting a REEL to Instagram you have the option to edit your video in-app. Simply go to post your video and click ‘edit video.’ Here you will see your audio bar and different ways to add text and effects. With this new feature, you are now able to add up to 20 tracks of audio. Making your editing game that much better.
See! I told you a lot happened in July. You have no time to waste, it's time to go hop on Instagram and LinkedIn. Until next time!
